God is incredible. I got this email from Nenye a couple of days ago and when I tell you how amazing God is!!! One thing we often say about God is that he is a faithful God and it is so true. In 2 Timothy 2: 13, we are told: “If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.” So God is a FAITHFUL GOD and he showed this to Nenye. The bible says in Hebrews 11:6: “he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him” and what really stood out for me in Nenye’s mail was how God showed himself to her as she made a commitment to become more serious in her walk with God. I am so honoured and privileged to be sharing this testimony today. It is REALLY Amazing. No matter what you are going through, please hold on to God!
God bless you for the wonderful work you are doing. God is using you mightily to enlighten people on his gifts and blessings which are readily available to all who reach out for them. I am sure that I have read all the articles on your blog, each of them have assisted me in one way or the other in my walk with God. I read the story about the loss of your daughter first on another blog, which directed me to your own blog. After reading the full story, I wept and asked God for forgiveness.
You see, we were pregnant about the same time. I had a hitch free pregnancy, no complications, nothing. Every morning, I used the ‘Supernatural Childbirth’ book to pray and I believed God for a supernatural delivery. When I was 41 weeks pregnant, I had no sign of labour, my doctor decided that I would be induced. I was so scared, I kept praying and believing God for a supernatural delivery (which meant a normal delivery to me). As God would have it, I went into labour few hours before the scheduled induction. When I got to the hospital, it was discovered that my baby’s heart rate was dropping each time I had contractions. I hadn’t even dilated up to 2cm, it was decided that I had to do an emergency C-Section. When I heard about this, I kept praying and crying. I called my family and friends to join in prayer but my baby’s heart rate kept dropping. Finally, I had the C-Section and was delivered of a beautiful and healthy baby girl. We were both discharged from the hospital few days after delivery but I felt so sad. I felt that God disappointed me, because he didn’t give me the supernatural delivery I believed and prayed for. This terrible mindset continued till I read about your daughter, I had my daughter on the 24th of February 2015, then, I realized how selfish I had been all those months and I had to ask God for forgiveness. What particularly got to me was how you and your husband stood firm with God in that situation. After that, I decided to become serious in my walk with God.
Few months after this, I was laid off at the office due to the ongoing oil glut. Normal me would have cried out my heart, worried off my head and wallowed in self-pity about how God would provide because I was contributing a substantial amount to the family purse. But what I did even surprised me, I thanked God for the opportunity to work there and believed him for something much better. I haven’t gotten another job yet but I have no doubt that something great is being prepared for me. And God has been providing all our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Barely five months after this, I was bathing my daughter and experienced a sharp pain on my right side. I could hardly walk. I was rushed to the hospital by my husband and it was diagnosed that I had acute appendicitis and was scheduled for an appendectomy immediately. When I got to the theatre, I was placed on a general anaesthesia and didn’t know what happened next. I woke a few hours and my first words were ‘’God is good’’. I held my hand up as a sign of victory, as if I had just won a battle. When I woke up I saw that was placed on oxygen with blood being transfused into my veins. I knew things didn’t go as planned but I was sure that I was victorious in Christ. The next day, I was visited by a group of doctors and was told that I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and lost one of my fallopian tubes. They didn’t detect it until I was opened up and they saw that I was bleeding internally. They searched the appendix and this wasn’t inflamed so, they searched all the other organs till they traced it to my tubes. They told me that if I hadn’t gotten to the hospital when I did, I would have died. And you know what, the bill which was over a million naira was paid by my former company’s HMO which I could use till six months after being made redundant. Isn’t God faithful!
So here am I, I have had two major operations in less than a year but I haven’t lost my praise. God is to me, an ever present help in time of need. I have no fear of what the future holds because I trust the one who holds the future and he has got my back.
I am a very confidential person but I chose to share my story because I have overcome the devil by the blood of Jesus and by the words of this testimony, in addition I am sharing it in thanksgiving for what God is preparing for me. Most importantly, this testimony is being shared to encourage everyone going through a rough time. God is in our midst, we need to be still and trust him completely for everything because he has promised that he will neither leave us nor forsake us, because he is a God that neither slumbers nor sleeps and because he is madly in love with us.
God bless you.
